Concealed Cameras catch illegal dumpers

With fly tipping on the rise in the recession, a team from Keyhole Security is catching out illegal dumpers using concealed cameras.

The team says it had “tremendous success” working with Brighton & Hove City Council Environmental Agency catching dumpers in a local area prone to the problem.

Now many local authorities across the UK have adopted the package they have put together - using Vidilanz cameras that need no in/out wiring or external DVR.

A survey by the Country Landowners Association shows that fly tipping is on the increase across the UK.

Says Keyhole Security: “The most common cause of fly tipping is laziness and cost. A large amount of fly tipping is committed by people who can’t be bothered to take their rubbish to the tip or practice recycling at home or at work.

“The other reason is cost, especially as disposing of commercial waste has to be paid for. Unscrupulous builders just dump it to avoid paying. Also many van drivers have been caught dumping waste because they do not have the money to pay because of the economic downturn.”

Keyhole has put together a specially designed course for people responsible for identifying fly tippers and maintaining the environment.

Jason McCreanney, MD of Keyhole Security said “Our aim is to lead the fight against fly tipping with these cameras and help to preserve the environment for our children.”
